Audrean Williams, owner of Precious Memories Wedding ChapelHello, I'm Audrean Williams, owner of Precious Memories Wedding Chapel.

Our mission is to provide a beautiful wedding site and complete wedding services. We offer one-stop and hassle-free weddings.

As a young person I started doing event planning and wedding coordination, and with a partner in 1993, I renovated a building and began to offer services. Couples appreciate our one-stop service which save them time, money and worry.

In 1997 I dismissed an employee who broke into the building and set it on fire. I was devastated. Recouping and repairing the damage was overwhelming, but I learned many lessons.

I have created a business which is an expression of my creative talents and provides a much needed service and I am in it for the long haul.

I read constantly and spend time with other business owners who are members with me in the National Association of Women Business Owners.

To own a business, you have to know that it is not easy! Prepare your mind for total commitment, hard work, low pay, long hours and learning new ways of doing it right. I'm Audrean Williams.

This interview was taped at Detroit Public Television to air in conjunction with Small Business School's regular weekly broadcasts. These people have been recommended by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Michigan Small Business Association as people who are "respected by their industry and loved by their community." They are givers and doers. And, they are all trying to heal the heart of a broken city and make it a place where everybody is proud to say, "I live in Detroit!"

In doing this brief profile, each person is then considered for an entire half-hour show on Small Business School.

To develop their transcript, each of these people answered a series of questions (the same questions within the online school). To be part of these one-minute profiles, we believe that you should be a member of the station and at least one of the local business groups that are committed to building a new Detroit.
